Somerville company uses AI to improve cities' handling of road repairs

NBC Boston profiled CYVL and co-founder Daniel Pelaez in a segment covering how the company's vehicle-mounted sensors and AI help cities identify road defects, prioritize repairs, and make smarter infrastructure investments. Boston CIO Santiago Garces spoke to how the partnership is helping the city be more proactive and equitable in planning infrastructure spending.

CYVL now serves more than 500 customers across the U.S. and Australia. The segment also introduced AskBoston.ai, a new site built with the City of Boston that lets anyone ask questions about local road conditions and get answers backed by real inspection data.
