Our new and improved pointcloud viewer
February brought a completely rebuilt LiDAR pointcloud viewer with four new measurement tools — assess ADA compliance, analyze drainage, and verify sign dimensions without stepping foot outside.

February brought a completely rebuilt pointcloud viewer to the CYVL platform. With a new suite of measurement tools that let you assess ADA compliance, analyze drainage, and verify sign dimensions without stepping foot outside, our pointcloud tooling is well equipped to bring new efficiency to your DPW. We rebuilt our LiDAR pointcloud viewer from the ground up, adding four new measurement tools — each unlocking a different set of use cases, with the same throughline: answers that used to require a field crew, now available at your desk.
Linear measurement
Click any two points in the viewer and get an instant horizontal distance. Measure curb-to-curb road width before designing a bike lane, verify sign dimensions against MUTCD standards, or screen sidewalks for ADA compliance — no field crew needed for the initial pass.
Height measurement
The same click-to-measure interaction, but for vertical distance. Select two points on any 3D feature — a stop sign, a curb ramp, a utility pole — and you've got the measurement with centimeter-level accuracy right in the viewer.
Elevation zone
Draw a polygon around any area of interest and get a color-coded topology map back in seconds. Grade changes, drainage flow paths, and surface depressions are immediately visible without a separate GIS tool or a field visit — and the visual lands well in a council meeting or grant application.
Curb reveal
Select a road segment and get an instant graph of curb reveal height along the entire stretch, with low-reveal areas color-coded so problem spots are obvious at a glance. For ADA compliance audits and curb replacement programs, this changes the front end of the assessment workflow entirely: screen your network, find the worst offenders, then send crews where they're actually needed.
