Sheboygan Falls traded drive-by road grades for measured ratings and now answers council questions with data.

A sign condition report also gave the city its first cost estimate for replacing poor signs.

Sheboygan Falls used to grade its roads by driving them. Those grades looked much better than the roads really were, because a street can ride fine and still be full of cracks.

Cyvl rated every street on the PASER scale, with photos and crack details, and built a sign inventory. When a council member passed on a resident's complaint about one road, the public works director showed it rated a 7 while other streets sat at 3. He sorted the ratings to show council the worst roads and is using them to plan the next capital program. The sign report gave him his first cost estimate for replacing poor signs.
