Buffalo will rank its 2027 paving list by need, using pavement scores for all 650 miles.

Residents can see on a public map how every street is ranked, and the sidewalk inventory will update an ADA plan last revised 12 years ago.

since its last ADA plan, which sidewalk data will help update

Buffalo wanted to put paving money where streets are worst, and its ADA transition plan had not been updated in 12 years. Sidewalks are the adjacent property owner's responsibility, so the city also needed to know which ones need repair.

Cyvl gave every city street a pavement score and is now mapping every sidewalk and curb ramp. The city's public paving map shows residents how streets are ranked, and the scores will shape the 2027 paving list. The sidewalk and curb ramp inventory will help the city update its ADA transition plan and send repair letters to property owners.
